Advantage II Firebox cleaning

Remove the fire brick you will see ash build up behind.

 

OK we are NOT done.

Advantage II stoves Pre 1999 have a removable Metal baffle behind the firebrick.
Two 5/16 headed screws hold this in place. they are located at the in the corner of the bend at the top and bottom of the baffle.

see all the ash build up in the corner. this ash is blocking the combustion air. if you did not remove
the baffle this ash would stay here and your stove would not be getting full draft.
